Ashtabula Farmers’ Market to start 10th season.
The Ashtabula Farmers’ Market will kick off its 10th season on Sunday, June 14th. The market hours are from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. every Sunday until October 11th. The market is located at 1105 Bridge Street in the historic Ashtabula harbor.
The public is invited to a ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:45 A.M. on the 14th to celebrate ten years of operation in the city. Evelyn Schaeffer, president of the Lift Bridge Community Association will cut the ribbon. This group of individuals and businesses are focused on promotion and development of the historic Ashtabula Harbor district.
The purpose of the market is to provide family farms an opportunity to sell their produce and farm products in a friendly supportive environment and provide fresh, locally produced items to the public. The market is also committed to promoting Ashtabula County and its economic development.
Vendors this year include Covered Bridge Garden with vegetables, popcorn, pecans and cut flowers. Ohio Heritage Farms will have produce and hanging baskets. Sweet Indulgence Gourmet Confections will have tasty baked goods and candy. 4evergreen Farm will be back with their wonderful jams and jellies. Happy Greens will have their special aquaponic greens and also provide tool sharpening. Honey Hollow Herbs will have a wide variety of herb plants.
New vendors this year include Field Fresh Farm with vegetables, honey and maple syrup. Peters Creek Farm will have a wide variety of vegetables. A & D Gardens will have a range of fresh fruit throughout the season from strawberries to apples. And finally, chef Nate Fagnilli from Crosswinds Grille will have house butchered meats and various charcuteries.
