Ohio is home to over 20 local food councils, and each council plays varying roles in shaping local food policy. At this time, Ashtabula Local Food Council is focused primarily on programming efforts – increasing access to local food, increasing the market for local food, and educating county residents on local food.
We have established the need and desire to work on a Food Policy Audit, which follows a questionnaire to evaluate local policy and how it affects access to local food. This project is still in planning phases. Please check back for more information.
